Why aren't I famous yet?

Well I don't have too much to say today, but I need to stay in the format I've chosen...monday wednesday, friday posting. Although when I start my first strip it will probably include sundays.

I love sunday funnies!

My goal is to have a strip in five years. That's a long time I know, but I started art late. I figure in five years I'll have the talent necessary to not have to resort to stick figures and sprites.

My fiancee asked me if I was going to get a tablet, but I plan on going O.G. with pencil and ink. I hear bristol is the prefered paper? I have some research to do. For now, I use a mechanical pencil and a sketch book. I intend to have that filled within a year. After that I'll start reading more art books, maybe take a class, and learn to use inks. Eventually I'll learn to design websites as well. I'll need to look into ComicPress and see how that works.

I wanted to post a few sketches, but I don't know what is up with our scanner here. So I'll leave you with this gem I whipped up in 5 minutes in
paint.

Instant sucess right?

Note: Not criticizing any artists here...just those that riff on a formula.

Don't Break the Fourth Wall on the First Date

Greetings!

I am your esteemed host, Quicker McWild! I am an up and coming cartoonist!

Well I'm actually an aspiring cartoonist. I have yet to really cartoon, and can barely draw. But that's what this blog aims to fix!

I figure blogging three times a week will teach me structure and improve my writing. I might even post my art as it comes along. Mostly I just want to chronicle the slow ascent of a struggling (and I mean struggling!) artist.

Quicker is obviously not my real name, but the character I've had in my head for quite some time. Someday when I am ready, he and his cohorts will see the light of internet bandwidth! For now, Mr. McWild is an Enigma. Expect me to reveal my other characters as time goes by.

I don't expect many to read this blog, and I assure you nothing is going to happen for a few years at least. This is just an exercise for me.
